Running your first event

From an empty console to someone holding a ticket.

There is a guided setup inside your console that walks you through this and ticks things off as you go. It reads what you have actually done, so you can stop halfway, come back tomorrow, or do the steps in whatever order suits you.

  1. 1Say who you are — your name, one line about you, and which timezone your events happen in.
  2. 2Make sure you can reach your guests. Tickets and sign-in codes go out by email — until that is set up they go nowhere at all.
  3. 3Put up an event: what it is called, when it starts, and how many people fit.
  4. 4Publish it. Until you do, only you can see it.
  5. 5Get ready for the door — send a link to whoever is scanning, or open the scanner yourself.

You don't need email working to try the whole thing. Every ticket appears on the confirmation screen and again on your guest list, each with its own link you can share by hand.
